We have developed this privacy statement because we want you to feel confident about the privacy and security of your personal details when you visit or use rugbyplayers.org or have any interactions with the International Rugby Players organisation that involves your data.

We respect your right to privacy. We treat as confidential all of the personal information you give to us. By using our website or by registering on our media distribution list, you agree to our use of your data as set out below.

International Rugby Players is a Data Controller and all handling and processing of your personal data is strictly in accordance with the data protection principles contained in the Data Protection Acts, 1988-2003 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Our servers are located in a secure facility and any access to your personal data is strictly controlled and limited only to persons who are authorised and have appropriate security clearance to access the servers.

In general, you can visit the site without providing personal information but we may still collect aggregated and anonymised statistical data.

We may collect information about your interaction with the site and the services on the site. This may include information about your computer and, where available, your IP address operating system and browser type. We may perform statistical analysis of user behaviour and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the site and to ascertain the number of users that have visited particular web pages. In performing statistical analysis, parts of the site uses Google Analytics (a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc.) to capture and analyze sites statistics. Any personal information collected, is retained only for as long as it is required. For example, we will retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the required service to be provided to you, or otherwise until such time as you choose to unsubscribe from hearing from us or you wish to correct, modify and/or remove your personal information.

How we use your information

We collect and use your information in order to give you a better service and to provide you with information you request, and (subject to the preferences that you express through the site) other information that may be of interest to you, including information about International Rugby Players, its governing structure, rugby teams and players, partner activations, other events and activities. Your personal information may be used to contact you when necessary.

We will, however, delete your information from our records if you ask us to do so (by contacting info@rugbyplayers.org).

We use statistical data collected from your use of the site to make ongoing improvements to the structure and content of the site, to give you a better service, and to provide you with information you request.

Any personal information collected is retained only for as long as it is required, given the reason why we hold it. For the purposes of our press distribution list, we use the services of Mailchimp. A link to MailChimp’s Privacy Policy and Terms is included here. 

Unsubscribe

You have the right to prevent marketing information being sent direct to you. If you prefer not to receive information from‎ us let us know by exercising the marketing preferences offered when we collect your details or contacting us. On our media distribution list, an unsubscribe button is located at the foot of the email. 

If you are under 16, you must obtain the approval of a parent or guardian before you choose to receive any services or communications from us in connection with the site.

Where we store your information

We use a combination of technological, physical, administrative and organisational controls as we deem appropriate to protect your information. We might store your information in different places. Physical files are stored in our office. Electronic files are stored on our secure servers and in the cloud. We may transfer your data to, and store it at, a destination outside of the European Economic Area. Whenever we transfer your data in such a way, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. You may contact us via e-mail, letter or telephone in case you wish to find out more or to obtain a copy of the appropriate safeguards.
