Collective Agreements
We believe that maintaining the integrity of the game is about good decision making by all those involved across many different environments – decisions that protect and enhance the brand of rugby. Quality leadership, governance and management is important in any environment, but it is just as important to align these qualities with the interests of the Players. We advocate for formal partnership agreements between all professional players and administrative bodies, ensuring that player’s rights are promoted and protected across all areas of their employment.
Dispute Resolution
International Rugby Players acts as a support structure to players across all professional and elite rugby environments in the world. We represent players on a wide range of grievances and contract disputes, dealing with local governing bodies and with World Rugby in achieving best outcomes. A large proportion of our work in this area is in directly helping players from Tier Two countries who don’t have a representative body in place in their local environment.
Tournament Terms Of Participation
Tournament terms of participation are the legal documents signed by tournament organisers, unions and teams ahead of any major competition.
International Rugby Players works with World Rugby and other governing bodies to ensure that player welfare is paramount when the tournament rules and regulations are being put in place. This often includes commercial and media terms for tournaments ranging from 15s and 7s, men’s and women’s and age-grade competitions.
Season & Competition structures
International Rugby Players were involved in the formation of the Global Season structure, 2020 – 2032, and remain committed to working with the Rugby’s major stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for players and the game itself. We also engage with World Rugby in the development of Sevens Series structures along with women’s tournaments across both 15’s and 7’s.
